For a little while now, I have considered using the ‘posts’ area to write up a bit of info on some of the designs i have made. There is always quite a bit of detail which the Lord gives as a design begins to be birthed, then as it is painted and I go through the process of completing it, more ‘layers’are often revealed. This design I am putting on this post is a few years old now, and was comissioned by a friend of mine who writes prophetic songs and music. Here is the ‘story’of this design called ELOHIYM BARA: This Banner design encompasses some of who God is as the possessor of all the Divine Powers, able to create simply by speaking, and as our Creator and Lord.
The rainbow shows the Mighty Creative Breath of God. God creates in colour which is why the colours of the visible light spectrum have been used. The coloured curls bursting off the sides of the main stream show the Breath of God is able to go anywhere and enter or surround any thing or anyone. It is important to understand that not only is it God’s Breath, but also His Sound, Voice, Wind and Holy Spirit able to do all this.
Even today God continues as our Creator, as the scripture says in Hebrew 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. The white curls also show the Breath of God (God’s Breath, His Sound, Voice, Wind and Holy Spirit) but at different levels or depths, for example the soft gentle whispers of His Voice, to the insistent nudging of the Holy Spirit, or the feeling of His Wind. It is as if the Lord has a symphony of sound made up of His Voice, Sound and Spirit, Breath and Wind, all put to heavenly music being sung by Him…
The Banner also shows the Holy Spirit as a dove, the dove is being swept along the main stream of the creative Breath of God, showing that actually the Lord and the Spirit are intertwined and are one and the same. Again the same is true of the Word of God, it too is being swept along the main stream, of the creative Breath of God showing that actually the Lord and the Word (Yeshua) are intertwined and are one and the same. There are the three facets of God’s character clearly evident Almighty God, Holy Spirit and the Word. Each part of and making up the whole of our Triune God.
You may notice the Word is two pictures: the Torah/ Tanakh shows a ‘hearing’ of the Word, as many Jews would go to their synagogue to ‘hear’ the Word, not many owned their own Torah / Tanakh. In fact even today many Jews go to ‘hear’ the Word. The song Ruth wrote is about releasing the sound of Heaven across the Nations, this representation of the Word as Torah shows the release of the sound of Heaven through the reading of the Word, as it is spoken out. Also depicted is a bible which is the ‘reading’ of the word, our spiritual food. The Word is also Yeshua. So even though many Jews don’t recognise Messiah Yeshua, we do; therefore He is here not only as He was in the beginning, but as He is for us today as the Word. The Torah / Tanakh also show the roots of our faith. If it were not for the preservation of the Word throughout history by meticulous Jewish scribes, we would not have a true record of the Creation of the world or our Creator.
So here we have three aspects of God, as Almighty God in the strong almost loud coloured sound of creating, the gentle whispers and softness of Holy Spirit, and the timelessness and eternal quality of the Word of God, Yeshua.
There is also written on the bottom in transliterated Hebrew, eg written in English as it sounds in Hebrew, Elohiym Bara, and at the top the same is written in Hebrew which is read from right to left. All Word and Worship Banners have the Word written on them, and so on the Bible is written Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And verse 31: God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.
On the Torah / Tanakh is written John 1: 1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
I wanted this Banner to express the beauty of God creating the world and all that is in it, and the beauty of the creation being ‘Good’. I also chose the passage of scripture in John 1 because it speaks of there being life and light at the creation of all things, I wanted the life and light to be evident in this banner. The background colour was chosen after much prayer, the Lord was showing the depth of the heavens, where He dwells, but also the depths of the waters as the Spirit hovered over them at creation. It is something I see in the blue of waters, reflecting the sky in the natural.
